How to verify if an iPhone is brand new?

I purchased Apple iPhone6S with IMEI-*** on 1st of August 2020 . However upon one week of using it,problems started to appear in the battery life.Due to those circumstances, I returned the phone on 7th August 2020. I was not responsible for any malfunctions of it so that as a remedy I requested them to replace it with a new one or refund it immediately but one month has already elapsed and on 4th September 2020,they offered me another one with IMEI-*** stating that it is a brand new one. But I doubt whether it is a brand new one or a pre owned one. I need assistance to verify whether this is a brand new one or a pre owned one.

Depending on the availability, it might be a refurbished device.

But, Apple replaces parts like display, battery, Home- Volume and Standby Buttons with new parts.

After that, you really can't tell the difference between a refurbished and a brand new device.

Enter your Serial Number Here: Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Care. It will tell you about your device. I've never seen the link stating "pre-owned" but it might. So, visit the link to find out what info it provides.
