my mac is not connecting to the internet when I turn off my VPN

I am using a VPN but when I trun off the VPN, I am not able ot conntect to the internet.

It works on safari but not on firefox

Can any one help me with this?

Why are you using a VPN? When using a VPN the gateway to the Internet is changed. So when you stop using the VPN your gateway and other network settings need to be changed.
