Mail problems: cannot delete mail, keeps reappearing in inbox

Please help. I have deleted the same messages 100 times and they keep reappearing in my inbox. I know this question has been posted before but I do not think I need to reinstall all of my email accounts. I'd like to learn if there is a different solution, if it is related to me using both computer and iphone for email. It does not seem to happen on iphone, only computer. Thanks
