bootcamp stuck on partitioning disk

I have a late 2013 macbook pro, running High Sierra (10.13.6) and am attempting to install Windows 10.

After having trouble formatting and downloading windows iso/Apple’s window support files on my 64gb usb drive I thought I finally had it all figured out.

I clicked only the 3rd option (install windows), set the partition with the space I wanted (92GB for Windows) but upon starting the bootcamp the status bar immediately got stuck on: partitioning disk.

This is my 3rd day struggling to bootcamp (and I have done it a couple times years ago!) so I will be soo grateful for any help. Any suggestions?

Update: not sure how to mark as resolved but I reluctantly managed to OS Catalina which allowed me go boot camp successfully.
