I started using iMovie and tried to send. I received the following message "Send Email failed. Please make sure your Mail application is properly configured." The mail app has been configured and tied to my aol account. Any suggestions?

From our understanding, you’re unable to share an iMovie project via email due to an error message. We’d be happy to help out!

To get started, we’d recommend ensuring that your movie, trailer, or clip doesn’t except 10 MB. Once complete, are you able to complete all of the steps shown here: iMovie for Mac: Email a movie, trailer, or clip

If you get stuck on a certain step, let us know which one, to help shed more light on what’s occurring. Also, do you have any other email addresses? If so, does the same thing occur when trying to send from that account? 

Alternatively, if you try to share a different project, does the same thing occur?

Try going to System Preferences/Security and Privacy/Privacy/Automation and make sure that the email app is checked under iMovie.
