iOS 13, Apple Music and Optus 5g home broadband

Recently, after installing and connecting to Optus 5g home broadband, I am encountering an issue whereby neither my iPad 5th generation nor my iPhone 7 could play music on Apple Music. Each time I select a song, I would receive either the message 'The network connection was lost' or 'The request timed out'. Both devices are on iOS 13.7. The issue only occurs with Apple Music. Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other apps are unaffected. Below are two threads with a similar issue to my own. The commonalities include iOS 13, Apple Music and a 5g home broadband system.

I have been able to find a workaround, namely using a VPN. I installed a free trial of protonVPN on my iPad and iPhone and have been able to play music with no issues. This solution isn't optimal, since the speeds I receive are greatly reduced and a VPN will be costly in the long run. Has anybody found a better solution to a similar issue?

I've found a solution. In Settings > Wi-Fi > network name > DNS, I set 'configure DNS' to 'manual' and changed the DNS server.
