Printing A4 borderless on Canon Pixma TS9550

Hey, what a nightmare this has been so far. I'm trying to print a design on my printer using the A4 borderless function however it is chopping off around 3mm off the bottom of my design each time although it doesn't preview this way. I have changed the settings to actual size, do not scale etc etc but I get the same result each time.

I have contacted Canon who have told me that it isn't possible to print A4 borderless with AirPrint as I need the Canon drivers installed to be able to change the 'amount of extension' (I don't have this function in my AirPrint) and there's nothing else they can do for me, but suggest I change my design size which isn't good enough for me as I need the document to be exactly A4.

I just can't believe that this is the 1st they're heard of this issue and that printing A4 borderless from AirPrint isn't possible..... I'm wondering if anybody else has had the same issue and being able to resolve it? I've just put in brand new inks worth £70 and the printer isn't without the return period anymore.

Thanks so much if you can help! I will add screenshots of the two different print options I get, one straight from Adobe Illustrator and one from PDF.

Ah, OK, in Text Edit>Page Setup>Page Size>Manage Custom Sizes, check the borders...

But the Graphic, what size is it, or the Document whatever?

I can't se what that oval is on the left, but seems there must be white space to the left of it in the original, can you post the original or a screenshot from the Ap you're printing from?

Thanks- do I want them to be set up as you have them for A4 borderless (with those measurements displayed in your screenshot), I currently have them all at 0 as I thought this would ensure I don't have any borders set up which would enable a full A4 borderless print job.

It specifies on the website that you can print borderless in a variety of sizes (see here: https://www.canon.co.uk/printers/pixma-ts9550-series/specifications/) and with a variety of papers, including Cardstock which is what I'm trying to print on to (see here: https://ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS9500%20series/EN/UG/ug-195.html) I need to print on to A4.

This is creating a clear border around my work within the print preview, when I am trying to achieve no border at all and no cutting off of the images?

Maybe Borderless on works on Photo Paper?

Or maybe your Printers real Max is 5MM less than A4?

Can you try a smaller size Borderless?

Note I have been printing on to A4 plain paper for test purposes only.

Hi, the document I am trying to print is an A4 card template, so the white bits with the oval are the back of the card and the image is the front of the card. The A4 page can fit two A6 cards on it, that's if it will print properly (ha-ha!)

I hope that makes more sense now I've explained what the document is. Thanks!

I’ve tried setting them all to zero and it still creates a 5mm border around my work though I’ve specified no border. it does this both when I choose ‘fit’ and ‘actual size’ for my preferences. Maybe you can’t print A4 borderless using Apple after all....

I think I understand the problem, just not the cure, but for diagnostic purposes can you Print to Preview or PDF, no need to waste paper & ink, but can you try setting it to Photo Paper & smaller sizes to to see if if it ever works?

Weird thought... what if we set Page Borders to a minus number, like -25mm?
