I transferred some photos a couple years ago from my old windows laptop onto a USB, before i factory reset the laptop. When i plugged the USB into my Macbook Air the photos are showing like this and cannot be open. There must be a way to correct this. Any help would be great.

If you created these albums on Windows, then Photos cannot open them. You would need to find a third-party utility that could handle those files on a Mac. Or, you need to return them to a Windows machine and pull out all the photos then put them in separate folders labeled with the original album title. Then they can be transferred to the Mac and imported into Photos or some other picture manager.
