Apple Watch Series 6 Glass Material???

Can anyone point to a webpage that says what the cover glass material is for the different series 6 cases? I tried texting with Apple support but they were unable to help.

This was not mentioned anywhere in the release video, nor is currently being listed on the website under the Tech Info section as has been previously communicated with every other Series release. Very odd, I wonder if means they all have the same glass, and I would think it isn't sapphire otherwise it would have been a very differentiating feature to tout.

I want to buy the stainless steel case with sapphire cover glass, but If they changed it to the Ion X glass then it doesn’t justify the price difference IMO (especially for the Hermes version). I really hope not listing the glass material just an oversight, because if it’s not and Apple discontinued sapphire, then this is a very sleazy marketing move.

I just got off a chat with an Apple Store Sales Specialist (you can do the same if you want) and they confirmed it is sapphire. Don't call tech support they will not know. And I agree if Apple wants to be a watch company they should know that people want to know what type of crystal it is.

That’s interesting because I also did a chat with Apple Sale and their answer is below.

Thank you for your patience, but we can’t seem to find anything that discusses the display materials on any of the watches. Stainless or otherwise. I’m not sure what that means, but I cannot guarantee that the stainless watch has a sapphire display.
