There's either one or both these re-sets, which could help troubleshoot your MacBook.

• Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063

• How to reset the SMC (system management controller) of your Mac - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Had you tried 'restart in Safe mode' as a means to troubleshoot?

Some symptoms of issues may cease, simply by restarting in Safe.

• How to use Safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

See other detailed suggestions in links in each of these articles.

Hard to say what's actually going on in your Mac and its OS; to

try ea. of above, in singular fashion to troubleshoot; may resolve

the issue(s). ~ Or you could try up startup in macOS Recovery.

There are tools that can effect reinstall of macOS in this recovery.

Good luck & happy trails!🌞🐝
