Reader view

How can I disable reader view permanently? Every article I read on my iPhone opens in reader view. I have disabled it for certain websites, yet it keeps opening no matter what I do. and example is the New York Times. Every time I open an article, it goes to reader view, I switch it from the web settings drop down menu. If I switch to another website and then return To the times, it goes back to reader view. Help! I'm extremely frustrated and then I cannot disable it permanently.

Hello lclark650,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with Reader view on your iPhone. We’re happy to help.

To start, restart your iPhone and make sure you’re running the latest iOS version:

Restart your iPhone

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If that doesn’t help, check to make sure that “Reader” is not enabled for all websites by tapping Settings > Safari > Reader.

If your issue remains, try clearing your Safari history and cookies:

Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know the results.

Take care.
