No admin, no password

So I do not have my admin information, neither my password one. I can log into my Macbook Air and account just fine. However, I needed to install some software recently that requires my admin username and password, and I do not have either of them, therefor I cannot install the software that I need. Is there some other way I can recover these? I feel like I have tried so many options, and it's pretty much hopeless

What is the name attached to your Home folder? That is your username. If you don't know the password, then see Forgot Your Account Password - Change or reset the password of a macOS user account - Apple Support.
