No admin, no password

So I do not have my admin information, neither my password one. I can log into my Macbook Air and account just fine. However, I needed to install some software recently that requires my admin username and password, and I do not have either of them, therefor I cannot install the software that I need. Is there some other way I can recover these? I feel like I have tried so many options, and it's pretty much hopeless
