Press Home To Recover screen

Hi,

I've been trying to restore my iPhone 7 plus from iTunes. I have a cracked screen so unable to put passcode in. I want to restore to factory settings but it prompted me to do an upgrade first before I can restore?!! I did this and now I'm stuck at 'Press Home To Recover' screen. It wants me to put in my passcode so it can complete, I cannot do this as the screen is cracked so only allows me to put certain numbers in. I'm completely stuck and can't move passed this. I have someone who wants the phone but it needs to be restored to factory settings. Please can someone help with the next steps. Tried Apple Chat last night but got nowhere...

Thanks

iPhone 7, iOS 13

Hi, you can try this to restore your phone, turn off your phone first: Press and hold the Side button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone. Then connect your iPhone to your computer while holding the Volume down button. Keep holding the Volume down button until you see the recovery mode screen. When you get the prompt to update or restore on the computer, select restore.

If it doesn't work, you need to replace the cracked screen first, you can take your phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service provider. You can book an appointment on getsupport.apple.com or use the Apple Support app.
