Apple Watch Series 6 with Tattoos
Is anyone aware of how the new watch will react with heavily tattooed forearms?
Currently have a series 3 but my tattoos make it impossible to use due to disconnecting every few minutes.

Hey jmrsdn,
i bought the Apple Watch Series 6 Nike edition and i have also issues with the wristdetection, so nothing works correctly. That’s so frustrating. Every year, since the og, i bought the new apple watch. I can’t understand this problem. Other brands like garmin or polar can do it too. Imo they can solve the problem if they would turn of the wristdetection but let the other function works. I know it’s important for apple pay so they can turn this function off.
After spending 5 mins looking for my watch this morning (it was on my right wrist...) I’ve turned wrist detection off and gone back to my left (tattooed) wrist.
I just received my 6 series and no luck with my tattoos. Same issue as the old series. It keeps locking
I must be a week or so in now of going back to the correct (left for me) wrist and turning wrist detection off. So far no negative issues whatsoever.
Or turn of wrist detection:)
I have a heavily inked tattoo where the sensor for my Apple Watch sits and it has issues as well. If I put the watch on my other arm where I do not have any ink it works just fine.
I’ve been using those for five years and it works perfectly.
This looks like a series one. They worked for me as well with series 1-5. However they stopped working on the new series 6.
correct. mine is a series 1. you are saying these stickers don’t work on series 6? then what do those of us with wrist tattoos do?
@drew turn off wrist detection. It’s working well for me.
I am saying these no longer work on the series 6. Hopefully there will be an option for people like us in the future.
Turning off wrist detect will not let you track your workouts.
but don’t i need wrist detection?
I’ve not found any downside yet.
i wore my s6 on the wrong wrist for a couple of weeks, I noticed no difference.
It still detects walks.
the only other exercise I do is weights which is tracked via ‘JEFIT’ and ‘MyFitnessPal’.
Yes you do if you track workouts or use Apple pay
