Apple Watch Family Setup does not appear to support Apple Watch Series 3, but it's unclear if that's because currently sold Series 3 models don't offer LTE. Could Family Setup work with my older Series 3 with with cellular? I'd consider an upgrade to a new watch if I could give my old Series 3 to my kid.

Yeah, I’d like to know the reason why apple has excluded series 3 from the family setup.
Has anyone tried to do it? Maybe it works, but hasn't been mentioned to avoid confusion with the sell of the Cell-less S3.
