After I crop my photo, how do I SAVE the edited photo?

I'm using the Photos app built in to my Mac Mini running High Sierra OS. I don't see how to SAVE a photo that I have cropped so that I have the edited final product.

Wallpaper reverting on macOS Ventura I recently updated to macOS Ventura and I am trying to set a custom wallpaper from a JPEG photo. I have tried the following approaches: Through Finder: right-clicked on a photo and chose 'Set as Desktop Picture' Through System Settings: selected a photo from my Downloads folder (auto-rotate is not turned on) Through System settings: selected a photo from my iCloud photo library (auto-rotate is not turned on) In each case, my Mac reverts to a default photo within a matter of minutes. The source photo was not changed (i.e., it was not deleted or edited from my local files or from the iCloud photo library). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

All new "Live" iOS 16.2 iPhone photos are now imported twice into Monterey Photos Version 7.0 (460.0.120) Since the iOS 16.2 update to my 2020 iPhone SE (2nd generation), all new "Live" photos are now imported twice into Monterey Photos Version 7.0 (460.0.120), once as a 3-second movie .MOV file, and also as the 'Live' photo with a .JPG extension. Looking at the 'More Info' for a newly-imported "Live" image, the .mov file is 5.5MB, and the JPG is 3.1MB, so obviously, each file is now using more that twice the space used by the previous 'Live' photo alone. Obviously, I can delete the unwanted video clips, but I'm just checking to see if there's some new Photos setting or IOS Camera or Photos setting I've overlooked. Is this an Apple strategy to sell me a new iPhone and a new Mac with much more storage?

If, by "save" you mean save the edited version of the photo to a folder (or the Desktop) on your computer, you choose File > Export (CMD-SHFT-E). Don't choose "Export Unmodified Original", because you'll loose your crop and other edits.

If, by "save" you mean send the edited version of the photo to someone, there are lots of options under File > Share.

Photos saves the edited image without the user having to click 'save'. It also, by the way, keeps the original unedited version around in case you want to revert. That's how it works on my iMac, hope it's the same on yours. Good luck.
