Extra music at end of song

When playing songs in Music on my 2020 MacBook Air, as a song ends, but before Music begins the next song, I get about a second of the beginning of a totally unrelated song, then Music goes to the next song in the the playlist and begins playing that song, as it should. When that song ends and before the next song begins, I get about another a second of another unrelated (and unrelated to the previous unrelated song as well) and then the next scheduled song begins. Of course, some times everything works as it should - no extra second of another song. All software is up to date. MacBook Air has 16 GB of ram and 1 terabyte of storage. Frustrating! Any ideas?
