So I just purchased my iPhone 11 last Tuesday and I already updated my iOS 13.6 to iOS 14. From what I read from different websites with new iOS 14 we can now watch up to 4k on YouTube but apparently my phone doesn't have that 4k resolution it only has 1080p. Also, why my phone doesn't have HDR on YouTube as well.

So why is it on my iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro, and AppleTV 4K don’t show 1440p and 2160p options in the YouTube app. This started happening even with the later public betas.
Sounds like Apple needs to have a word with YouTube.

It all depends, on how YouTube provides the content. If the content is not available in 4k, the iPhone can not transform that into 4k. Same for videos you download from iTunes, for example. If it has not been filmed in 4k, a lower resolution is all you can get on your phone.

"That depends on your phone mode" what you mean by this? Regarding with the connection speed I have 100mbps symmetrical.
Robin might have tried to say that even if you were trying to play 4k video on iPhone, it would scale down to only the native screen size. There isn't really a point to be watching 4k on iPhones.
For example, the iPhone 11 is 1792 x 828 resolution at 326 ppi
It can't even show your camera 4k videos.
same videos i watches in 4k and hdr... but suddeny hdr option disappear.. now i tried on thousands of hdr video but no hdr option on same videos i have watched in hdr already... ios 14.0.1 iphone 11pro ..
I watched 4k video on my pc and then I re-watched the same video on my iPhone 11 but I got only 1080p max
That depends on your phone mode, the speed of connection and video.
on phone 4k is not really any different than other resolutions.
