ipad unresponsive

After being prompted to update my ipad to IOS 13.7, I attempted to but all it did was reinstall 13.6. So after checking Apples install options, I opted to update via itunes. itunes downloaded the update but during the install I got an error message and the apple logo on the ipad screen. Since then my ipad wont even open to its home page. I have tried a forced restart and restore to factory settings but nothing. The restore just gives me an error 14 message. It does attempt to restore, as I get the apple logo with the install bar underneath, but it freezes after a fraction of the bar goes white. Have tried different cables, ports and even laptops but all I get is a blank screen. Apple have suggested I now book in for a repair but have a feeling that's going to be pricey. Especially when I think the install is whats caused the issue. Anyone got any ideas??

If iPad isn’t responding, do one of the following:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If the iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen.

My must have tried the update last night and now it's stuck in this limbo. Can't restart, can't anything. Can't even when plugged into computer. The limbo makes it unrecognizable as a device. I am irked at Apple that they may do an IOS update if space is or something else is inadequate. If I have to restore I will lose a lot. So I am looking forward to other suggestions.
