Delay in Mac Mail receipt

why is there a big delay in receiving emails in mac mail but not on an iPhone? Can be over 24 hrs or not at all sometimes.

Finally, test the issue in another user account: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

Hi, thanks for the advice but sadly it didn't work.

I have narrowed the issue down to being emails with attachments sent from my Outlook account on a different device, to my macmail account on my iMac. I've had some "undeliverable messages" stating something about a throttled sender.

My ISP, which the imac/mac mail account are related to, don't seem to be able to resolve the issue.

any other suggestions I can try pls?
