Same issue here with error 4000 - latest iTunes version, whether iTunes

from Apple or through the Windows Store - iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPad 6th

Gen. This has been happening for the past few update cycles. I believe

the problem lies in iTunes thinking the phone/iPad is locked, even if

you keep the screen on and enter your unlock code when asked. The only

way I have found to update using iTunes is to turn Passcode off in

settings, then it will update. Only thing is it will delete and

debit/credit cards in Wallet and you have to re-enter them. Apple really

needs to fix this.

I guess you could try doing what I did, after backing up your phone.

If you're having trouble with the latest iTunes version (which is required to update to iOS14) then you can download the previous version here: https://support.apple.com/downloads/itunes

[On your iPhone] Settings -> Software Update : Download & Install

The ipsw file is just over 5GB in size, so you will need at least that free space available on your phone.

Same issue, here. Reddit seems to be littered with the same issues.

Multiple iPhones and iPads, latest iTunes, already rebooted, tried different ports, plenty of space.

No dice...just garbage QA testing.

You should also allow us to pick the backup folder we want to use, so iTunes backups will stop dumping data on my SSD.

I manually make the move with the Mklink command.
