Messages on Apple Watch - Sync to iCloud

I'm assuming that Messages are not syncing to iCloud in Watch OS 7. Am I wrong?

It is so annoying that this feature is still not available!

Hello Ken,

It sounds like you are having an issue with your messages syncing between your Apple Watch and iPhone. Please feel free to correct us if we have misunderstood.

  1. A great place to start with this issue is to make sure that your paired iPhone is updated: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. If you're paired iPhone is up-to-date, you may want to take a look at the information in: If your Apple Watch isn't connected or paired with your iPhone.

We appreciate you reaching out to Apple Support Communities. Cheers!

Hello Ken,

It sounds like your messages don't delete on your Apple Watch when you delete them on your iPhone.

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities about this, "Message deletion is not synced across Apple Watch and iPhone and there is no way to enable this. Messages instead need to be deleted separately on each device.

The "Mirror my iPhone" setting for Apple Watch determines only how you are notified about new messages.

To delete a Messages conversation on your Apple Watch:

  • Open the Messages app on your watch:
    • When viewing the time, go to the Home screen (by pressing once on the Digital Crown) > tap on the Messages app icon.
    • Or use Siri (eg "hey Siri, open Messages").
  • When viewing the conversation list, swipe left on the conversation that you wish to delete > tap Delete / Trash.
