Since Adobe's Flash Player is so prevalent across most internet sites and web pages (moreso than Java), how will this 'security fix' affect internet use and web site usage?
Any website still relying on Flash is a site not paying the slightest bit of attention to, well, just about anything.
Adobe announced in July of 2017 Flash was coming to an end. That end is this year. After the end of 2020, you won't even be able to download it from Adobe's site.
I haven't been to a site that uses Flash in years. It's just not that prevalent. The sites should all be using HTML5.
Adobe killed Flash a couple of years ago, so nobody should be incorporating it into new sites.
Thanks, Barney... Over 35 years, I've grown up with Adobe stuff and will take some therapy sessions to be more comfortable cruisin' w/o Flash. I'll get over it. There may be some older sites using Flash I'll have to replace. Should be fun!
Thanks Woodman. As I told Barney, after 35 years in the Apple world, living w/o Flash will eventually become "normal."
I have been using Safari with Mojave and now Catalina
without Adobe Flash Player and during that entire time
visiting a very wide variety of websites have not encountered
one incident of needing Flash Player. Most reputable sites
have switched over to the much more secure and less bug
prone HTML5 formats.
What exactly does Apple mean by the phrase "removing support for Adobe Flash Player" in OS X Catalina?
