Several times per day, every day for the last 3 - 4 weeks, I am being prompted to download Adobe Flash. I don't think I need it. But it is really annoying! Is there a way to block all these attempts to get me to down load?
Next question. Is HTML5 included in OS Catalina? If not, do I need it? If so, what is a safe site in which to download HTML5? Ad what exactly is it anyway?

HTML5 is a specification for web site code. It is not something you install.
Safari can use/display HTML5.
You shouldn't need Flash. What website are you visiting that indicates you need to download Flash?
You might have installed adware which is causing the popups. However, I don't know that I can remember that being a symptom of any adware.
EtreCheck might be able to identify the adware and remove it.

Flash isn't dangerous in and of itself. It is the phony upgrade scams that get people to install adware.
However, Adobe has killed it off and it would be rare to ever need it.
HTML is a markup language used to create web pages. HTML5 is version 5 of the language. If you don't know what it is you don't need it.
You only need Flash Player if you need to play Flash content. The only place to download Flash Player is from the official Flash Player site: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
I really don't know what websites are prompting it. I was on COX chatting about an email outage and it popped up. Reading The NY Times, WASH Post, Yahoo news, Faithwire News, Christian Times, Breitbart, and lots of other news sites and it just seems like a random thing. Very annoying. I will pay more attention the next time it pops up.

Very frustrating to have it pop up at random. I don't have flash loaded. The sites I visit have never needed it that I am aware of. Mostly political news and religious news sites and a couple of BBQ/Smoked meat forums. Very annoying. Thanks. I don't plan on downloading flash. It just gets on my nerves. Thanks again.
Thanks Barney-15E. There must have been a story or something that required flash so I reckon I downloaded it to get through the story and accompanying videos. Anyway, I found it and deleted it. And I thank you and the others for your help and advice.
I was just on eBay and the adobe flash popped up. So I did some prowling around the system and found the adobe install manager in utilities. Seems like I download it on 11 MAR 2020. I deleted it. Hope I did not foul up the computer.
I have AdGuard Premium and MalwareBytes Premium installed. Clean so far. I will look into EntreCheck. Thanks.
