I own some very expensive Sterling Silver watch bands for my 40mm Apple Watch. I want to upgrade my watch to the Six Series but wonder about being able to use these old bands. Would they still be compatible (albeit a little on the short side)?

Your OLD Sterling Silver watch bands that you are using currently on you 40mm Apple Watch (not sure of which generation?) should work just fine on the new 40mm Series Six Apple Watch.
