I have iOS 14 on an iPhone XR. When I open a message in messages, I then long press a received message, the popup menu shows up below the message but it only contains Copy and More. Reply never shows up. What am I missing?

Reply is the default action when you are within a message. No long press needed.

I don't know that I'm afraid. I don't have any multiple party messages.
I just figured it out. It will only allow you to create an inline reply to a group of users that all have iPhones.
