Live Photos Imported as Picture and Video

Hello everyone,

So, I've got a big problem, and I don't think I'll be able to get out of it.

I changed Macs and exported all my pictures, and now I've imported them all into my Photos app.

Turns out that I'm now importing live photos as videos and pictures. Is this normal behaviour? Is there something I can do about it?

Since Ventura update I cannot import photos. I recently got the Ventura update on my intel based Mac. I am unable to import photos from SD card to my photos library that is on an external drive. I've been reading that some people are having similar but not quite the same issue as me... I tried just about everything. Restarting. Disconnect/reconnect. Disk utility unmount/mount. All new "Live" iOS 16.2 iPhone photos are now imported twice into Monterey Photos Version 7.0 (460.0.120) Since the iOS 16.2 update to my 2020 iPhone SE (2nd generation), all new "Live" photos are now imported twice into Monterey Photos Version 7.0 (460.0.120), once as a 3-second movie .MOV file, and also as the 'Live' photo with a .JPG extension. Looking at the 'More Info' for a newly-imported "Live" image, the .mov file is 5.5MB, and the JPG is 3.1MB, so obviously, each file is now using more that twice the space used by the previous 'Live' photo alone. Obviously, I can delete the unwanted video clips, but I'm just checking to see if there's some new Photos setting or IOS Camera or Photos setting I've overlooked. Is this an Apple strategy to sell me a new iPhone and a new Mac with much more storage?

In PHOTOS how to expoert and import photos in sequence? Hello, I am getting more and more disappointed by apple mainly around PHOTOS & iCloud, so many things do not work .... it is crazy). I try to do something very basic: 1. Export (from MAC A) an album in sequence (the album is defined in a manual sequence) 2. Import that album in another MAC B (PHOTOS) and display it in the same sequence as the original Of course I export in sequence (pic 1, 2, 3, 4, etc) but when I import it goes total out of sequence and given I have a lot of albums I see there is no apparent logic, one display 1,2,3 and then 656, 657, and then 11 etc. The other album something totally different. Also it is not the classical issue of 1, 10, 11….19, 2, 20, 21 etc If someone has an idea it would be great ! Seems that Apple can't event do this.... thx Regards, Michael

You can export photos in the original file format in which they were imported into your Photos library. A Live Photo is exported as two separate files: a still image file and a video file."
