Photo widget showing no content available?

Thanks for posting! The Photos widget is a great new feature, and we'll be happy to see how we can assist with this. It sounds like you're able to add the widget, but you're not seeing any content.

Does it help if you remove the widget and re-add it? You can do this by tapping "Edit" at the bottom of your widgets page, and then tapping the - symbol. Then, tap the + in the top right and re-add it: Use widgets on your iPhone and iPod touch

If that doesn't help, Restart your iPhone and remove/re-add it again.

We hope that helps! If the issue persists, you might try adding a different widget, like the Weather widget. How does that one work?

ios14 photos widget has been blank since day one.

ive restarted, reset, signed out of iCloud, left the phone plugged over night, reset photos appearing in memories, held the widget while in jiggle n swept back to home

ive tried EVERYTHING and it’s still grey.

cmon, are you guys even testing this stuff before you release it??

The answer is, favourite your photos. Or favourite the photos you want.

A) Favourite all

B) Favourite a holiday

leave over night and you’ll now have content in the for you, and instead of a grey widget you’ll now have a photo.

if you decide to delete all photos at any stage in the future, then you’ll need to start again with favouriting photos as you go.

That’s all there is to it. No reset phone, switch off and on, turn off and on this or that. Just the above is all it needs. You can’t have the for you content if you’re not telling it which photos you like.

Hi! I have this problem too. The widget had worked pretty well but as of today it shows just a gray box.

I tried removing it, adding a new one, restarting the iPhone and even upgrading the OS (to 14.1) and it did not work.

I'm also using Podcast, Fitness and Smart Stack widgets; all of them are working fine.

iPhone XR ios14.0.1 version: photo widget says “no content available “. I’ve tried common sense measures to no avail. Still blank grey. Please advice

I manage to make it to work again by opening photo app go to For You memory and delete first suggested memory. that’s it!

Interesting. How long have you had the widget? It took three days for me. I had also wiped my photos before the update, so that may play a factor if you did something similar.

Is this Widget Smith or Apple's widget?

The Apple one, it’s happening to me too

It wasn’t working for me for two days, but it worked today. Just give it time. Apparently it resets during the night.

I was having that same problem with widgetsmith so i just deleted it and installed Photo Widget: Simple and its been alot better than the others.
