Sometimes when I rest my finger/touch the touch id button a text appears saying "press to switch". If I do it, Mac instantly switches accounts.
How does it work? How to do it to make a switch? Why it's not always working? Can someone explain me how to switch users using only button? Not the "fast switch" from menu bar.

It should just switch without clicking the fast user switching icon in the menu bar, provided that the user you're switching to is logged in.
