watchOS 7 Battery Drain
I updated my series 4 Apple Watch to WatchOS 7 today. I use my watch all day and usually have about 30% battery left when I go to bed and start changing. Today my phone got to 10% by 2:30 pm! Why is this drawing so quickly?

I had the same issue on my Apple Watch Series 4 after updating to iOS7. I tried shutting down background app refresh, and ensured sleep app and hand washing apps were off.
This didn't fix issue so I read on some other forums about repairing to your iPhone. So I did a reset on my watch. I restored using the same backup I just reset and today the problem seems to be gone. After a 2hour walk I have only went down 13% which is normal level. When I was running out of battery my watch was showing a 35% drop after my walk.
if restoring from the backup didn't work I was going to try setting up as new watch but obviously I didn't have to go that far.
The unpair/setup from backup trick seems to have worked for me as well. Series 4 on watchOS 7. Battery life is back to normal.
Unpair - pair works for many people (incl. me), it's the best known fix at the moment, five minutes well spent ;-)
I unpaired/pair and used backup. It works
Also unpaired/paired my Series 4 and restored from backup. Drain before unpairing was 6-7%/hour. Now - the next morning - it's down to approx 1.5%/hour.
I unpaired then paired as new and battery usage is back to normal.
didn’t work with unpairing and restoring from backup.
same problem eith my watch4. and ı unpaired and paired and ıt works for me. battery lifesoan return to before watchos7 upgrade
Now that I’ve also applied OS 7.0.1 with the fix (on top of unpairing and repairing as I mentioned earlier), battery drain has substantially improved. Only 3% loss in the last 4 hours.
7.0.1 update, fixed my battery problem as well. Back to normal finally!
Doing the watch reset/unpaired and repaired seems to have cured my battery drain.
Re-pairing worked for me but only after upgrading my phone to iOS 14.0.1.
Apple Watch 4 : same here , battery drain in 6-10 hours .
solved : walkie talkie was yellow and activated in watch menu (swip up)
I had this battery drain issue yesterday. It may have been after a firmware update. Anyway, I found the suggestion of unpairing and pairing again solved the problem. Thanks.
The battery on my Apple Watch 5 is draining like crazy after updating to watchOS 7. Before I updated I would typically log a 2 hour workout in and wear it for about 14 hours and still have better than 30% of the battery remaining. After updating and doing the same routine I was shocked to get a low battery notification - about 8 % remaining. I’ve read all the posts in this discussion group and I hope Apple does too. This is obviously a software issue that needs immediate attention. I turned off the Background App Refresh toggle to see if it helps slow down the battery drain until Apple addresses the issue. I’ll post the results of my little trial.
I tried the unpair and repair this morning and the initial results are promising. I had lost 3% in the first 15 minutes after taking my Watch Series 4 off the charger. Since the unpair and repair about 90 minutes ago, I am down only 2%.
I will be going on a run here shortly. We shall see how it goes, but I think this will be better than it was.
Well I unpaired and repaired roughly 2 and a half hours ago. My watch was charged to 78% when I took it off so I could continue with my day. Since then it has only died 3% which seems normal, especially not being fully charged when I put it back on. So for me the unpairing and repairing seems to be the solution. I will see what happens later when I go walk my dogs and tomorrow
