watchOS 7 Battery Drain
I updated my series 4 Apple Watch to WatchOS 7 today. I use my watch all day and usually have about 30% battery left when I go to bed and start changing. Today my phone got to 10% by 2:30 pm! Why is this drawing so quickly?

I had the same issue on my Apple Watch Series 4 after updating to iOS7. I tried shutting down background app refresh, and ensured sleep app and hand washing apps were off.
This didn't fix issue so I read on some other forums about repairing to your iPhone. So I did a reset on my watch. I restored using the same backup I just reset and today the problem seems to be gone. After a 2hour walk I have only went down 13% which is normal level. When I was running out of battery my watch was showing a 35% drop after my walk.
if restoring from the backup didn't work I was going to try setting up as new watch but obviously I didn't have to go that far.
I'm seeing about 1.5-2% drain per hour - 10% in six hours today.
This was consistent with 7.0.0 w/ fixes in this thread.
Quick unpair/pair with restoring from backup fixed the problem for me. I couldn't wait for apple to ship a fix.
Apple please do a better job next time.
Some people have had to unpair and then pair as a new watch rather than from a backup. But try 7.01 first to see if that helps. To do this you need to first update your iPhone 11 to 14.01.
You actually don’t need to update your iPhone first. I updated my watch to 7.0.1, and only later updated my phone to 14.0.1. Probably just enough to be on 14.0 to get 7.0.1 on your watch.
Seems better since update to 7.0.1
OS 7.01 did not help my battery issue.
How did you update your Apple Watch because it won't let me? Ive tried to restart it, unpair/pair again, start as new watch and still won't let me?
Software update did not fix my battery drain problem
I unpaired and then reinstalled from backup. Took a bike ride with 75% powering my watch. After 2mi, I received a 10% power warning. What now? I don’t want to lose all my data.
Same issue with my Series 4 but the unpair/re-pair as new suggestion didn't seem to help. Losing about 6%/hour.
Did you pair it with backup or as new watch? Mine seems to be better now. Only 50% drained in about 24 hrs. You have to pair it as new watch. It’s a hassle but it helped.
Unpair and pair from backup 7.0 update also fixed the missing map problem. It didn’t come back after 7.01.
Quick update, during 6 hours of sleep the battery has drained 50 percent. Sleep tracking is off.
Nope. They mean both. Then restore the phone from iCloud.
After the latest Apple watch update, I believe my battery drain issue is fixed. I'll give it another day to check, but didn't have to charge again today.
