Preparing iPhone for Software Update" in iTunes

My iPhone is stuck on Preparing iPhone for Software Update" in iTunes with blue line for almost 2 hours. sometimes appears the apple logo on the iPhone very quick then disappears again. when trying to close iTunes i have a message saying: if you quit you will need to restore your iPhone...

should I quit or wait?
