will Clamshell mode harm the battery of my MacBook?

I am concerned that if I keep my MacBook plugged in during the 40 hour work week, to use clamshell mode, that it will degrade my battery at an accelerated manor.

Your feedback based on a high level of knowledge or facts is greatly appreciated.

Keep it well ventilated, do not obstruct its vents and leave some room around for hot air to escape.

Best way is to leave it standing up with USB-C ports on the upper side, I mean, Apple logo will be vertical and upside down. That way you'll have the best airflow, even more on the 2016+ models, that have side vents to suck air in, and push it out through the back, under the screen.
