Email photo as attachment, not embedded, in iOS 14

Exactly. Is there an Apple employee seeing this issue. I wish Steve Jobs was still alive. They are ruining Apple iPhone experience.

This was using gmail. But I’m sure it works the same for all the apps. I’m unsure of what the rest of your reply is asking. Lol

Did you try it using the “gmail” App, as the poster of that tip later posted?

I just tested the gmail web client. I was able to download several attached “embedded” images just by clicking the Download All icon.

I have macs, and I use the Apple Mail app for some gmail accounts. It supports bulk image downloads.

Share the File in the email body as usual. Then click with right mouse button in the embed image and choose "see as Icon"

I'd think that any non-trivial inconvenience caused to a non-trivial number of users with regard to how any software fails to communicate with other, inferior clients over which it has no control, should be a concern to the developers of the software in question (Apple). Any superior user interface should be responsive to how it works with other popular systems and with folks of varying levels of tech fluency. Blaming grandma for owning a PC that won't allow her to save images sent to her from her Mac-owning progeny doesn't really fix the problem, and only points to a poor understanding of the human element in the messy tech ecosystem.

I had the same issue but found a work around: if your receiving email is in outlook you can go to the email, click on File in the command ribbon and save as HTML onto your computer. That drops all the photos into a folder as image files

Instead of sending the pics to your email through the email app, try sending them to your email through the messaging app. I tried this, and it worked, pics were sent as .jpg attachments to my desktop email. Then, just a matter of drag and drop into folders as usual. I've spread the word in my office, and it seems to work for everyone, though some people tell me that the email from text ends up in the junk folder since it's seen by Outlook as an external email. In any case, it's there and usable. Give it a shot.

This is crazy. If a try and send a number of images and a video, the total size is too much too e-mail, so it asks me if I want to use Maildrop. So I select that, but when it arrives in my inbox, the images are there but the video has been lost!! Tried several times, same result. So Maildrop isn't working right either. There must be millions of people having trouble. Apple - please sort these issues quickly or we'll all move to Android.

I found a work around until hopefully they fix the issue. I send a minimum of 15 pictures a day to myself for work containing reports I have turn in. And my sites have no other way but to text me pictures. If you go to the picture, hit print take two fingers and swipe from the middle out to , two opposite corners it creates a PDF. Just have to be careful it will cute sides off. But this is the quickest way I am finding at the moment.

I’ll repeat what has been said several times. There is no such thing as an image embedded in an email. ALL images are sent as attachments. Some email apps show the attachments in the body of the email. But you can still download them as attachments.
