G Drive mobile USB-C

Hi - My husband used this to back up his computer. There is still 920gb on it. When I plug it in, it starts to back up my computer - but is extremely slow and actually won't give me an estimated remaining time, but appears to be in the range of many hours. The problem is that as soon as my computer goes to sleep, it stops backing up and doesn't save anything. What should I do?

Open Energy Saver preferences pane. Check the first option to prevent putting the computer to sleep when the display is off, then uncheck the box that puts the drives to sleep when possible. I believe it's the second option. Check the option for Power Nap which is the last option.
