Shut down the computer. Unplug the external drive. Restart your computer in safe mode

It may take a long time maybe 10 or 20 minutes.
Then restart normally. Connect the G-drive again. Open Disk Utility, do you see the G-Drive in Disk Utility?
Thanks for taking the time to help. Unfortunately I think it is a problem with the hard drive . It was working a few weeks ago and can't be recognized by any of the computers I have been plugging it into. Do you know if it is possible to have information stored on said faulty Hard drive to a new one?
Not the most computer savvy of people. Thanks for your help
Nicola ~ What Apple computer is it and what macOS version?

Thanks so much. You've been very helpful. :)
Thanks for taking the time to help. Unfortunately I think it is a problem with the G Slim hard drive. I tried to connect to a different computer and it is doing the same. Displaying solid light and not registering on the computer.. Do you know if it is possible to have storage transferred from faulty Hard drive to a new one?

That's very unfortunate, I am sorry this has happened to you.
(For future reference, however, keep in mind that all computer electronics do eventually stop working, it's really a matter of when, not if. So important files need to be backed up, always.)
Do try Disk Utility. If it shows up there, you can try to repair it. Other utilities (like TechTool Pro, or Disk Warrior) sometimes can fix things that Disk Utility cannot fix. These utilities typically cost $50-$100.
If that does not work, there are disk salvage companies that may be able to retrieve your files. This is done in special clean rooms and the mechanical drives is disassembled and the individual bits are read from or copied from the faulty drive platters. It can cost some hundreds of dollars, or more, and it might not succeed. If the external drive is a solid state drive, I don't know if it can be salvaged.
P.S. One last thing. If possible, I would try a different cable. The cables sometimes do go bad.
