Found Lost Air Pods, looking for owner

I'm attempting to contact Apple with the serial numbers of the Air Pods I found while on my daily walk. Their system asks me to enter the serial numbers, which I do, it then says the serial numbers are not valid. Maybe the owners had these Air Pods taken out of the system because they lost them? Anyway, how can I contact Apple to help me connect with the owners?

You don't.

Apple is not going to violate someone's privacy by giving out their information.

Apple does not get involved in lost or stolen device situations.

Turn them into the police or if the place you found has one, the lost and found department.

Johnathan,

That makes sense that Apple would want to protect the privacy of the owners. I found them laying on the ground (our streets have no sidewalks). I doubt the police would care. Is it possible to use them? My grandson would probably love 'em. I just hate to let these cool devices go to waste if I can't get them back to the owner.
