Power charging after ios14 update

I agree this is a software problem and I am disgusted with Apple. Hope they make a correction soon.

Like the idea of the wireless charger, but I have a magnet on my case that lets me attach it to my car dash. It won't charge on the wireless charger with a magnet in the way. Darn it.

Yes, since my 14.02 upgrade, my battery charging has been terrible. Here are the symptoms:

-My battery runs out quickly

-Every time I plug it in to recharge, it locks up and forces a reboot

-Also, it may not charge at all

• and the worse thing it provides FALSE battery levels: it will say its a 100% when really it's sitting @ 19% for instance

I have an iPhone 6s that was running fine until 14.2 update. Now I have the exact same problem. Too bad wireless charging isn't an option or I would have tried that. So frustrated and angry at apple right now. It happened so fast, I wasn't able to back up my phone data. I have an appointment next Tuesday at the Apple store (the earliest I could get, they are so busy!) I hope a new battery will at least enable me to get my data off of it. Switching to a non-apple phone ASAP. This is the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. The battery had better be free, too - it wasn't my fault.

i am having issues with my 7plus. i did the 14 update then the battery started having issues not charging. replaced batter at apple and now its not showing charging with the lightening bolt. sometimes - prior to battery replacement and after - it will charge to 100% overnight hooked up to a computer. never shows the lightening bolt. what is up? i paid for battery replacement and will have to go in again to get them to service it ....again.

Just updated my XR to the 14.3.1 update and as soon as my phone cut back on it stopped charging and won’t connect to any charger now. How ridiculous Apple. They’ve probably done this so you’re required to buy the newest phone

Same here, at first it affected my plug in earphones, then I could not charge my phone. Now my earphones are working with it but my phone is still unresponsive to my charger.

Ok, that is really end of the story. 🤣

Can you explain please how exactly are you not able to charge your phone?

1. Are you still able to turn your iPhone on or is the battery of your iPhone empty now?
2. Can you get in the DFU Mode? (DFU-Mode is a recovery mode: Press Volume-Key "up", Volume-Key "down" and then Side-Button "press and hold" for 10 seconds?)
3. Can iTunes recognize your phone if you plug it with an original data cable to your PC?
4. What do you see on the display when you connect the charger?

My Answers are:

1. No. I'm not able to turn it on.

3. No. ITunes doesn't recognize my iPhone at all.
4. Only an empty battery symbol. (With the cable and without the cable. See image)

I disassembled my iPhone (I am an engineer).

I checked the voltage level of my battery. It is 3.3 Volts. This voltage level means the battery is just empty. It was discharged to zero. But the iPhone is not able to charge it anymore. I tried a new original battery. And it works.

Summary

So, because of the charging problems after update of the iPhone to new iOS the battery was discharged to zero and the iphone was not able to charge it to an appropriate level.

1. I want to check my old battery further if it is damaged or not.
2. I want to check my new battery if it works properly to get this battery to zero and then charge it again to the 100%.

Its not the charger. I have one from amazon. My phone just wont charge, even on the apple charger. The only fix is to turn it off and power it on again a couple of times. My guess is that theres some something in the battery maintenance part of the OS that gets stuck and wont let the phones charge.

Call apple support, demand that your ticket get escalated to a higher level of support. Then tell them to pull the specific logs of your phones.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 8. I have been in constant contact with Apple support who have been working on my phone to try and sort out the problem. Spent literally days over several weeks with them. Still nothing has worked and battery new like yours. It is an upgrade issue and they have there engineers working on it. I think it is the fact that we have older phones and the upgrade is not working on ours. It is to do with the battery life thing they added which is not compatible with our older phones I think. Hopefully they bring out a fix for our phones or let us revert to IOS 14 - the glitch happened with 14.2!
