What happened to the date on Apple Watch

I updated my watch last night and the date disappeared. There is no option to have the date showing on my watch face anymore. I look at my watch for the date a lot. Does anyone know what happened?!?!

I’ve fixed this for myself this morning.

tap and hold down your screen until it says edit. Click edit, scroll past colour & position. Click complications click calendar and time you can even add your activity if you wanted to finish up by pressing the side button and voila your done.

I’ve been onto Apple Support Chat & sorted it:

With previous versions of watchOS the Date complication was independent. With watchOS 7 it's part of Calendar. When adding the Calendar complication Today's Date can be selected. If Calendar was removed from the paired iPhone, it will also be missing from the Apple Watch.

if you have removed it from your phone, like I had, go to the App Store and look it up and download it.

Does Office 365 on your iPhone provide a date complication? If not, then it is meaningless.

You need to have the Apple Calendar app on your iPhone. You DO NOT need to use the Apple Calendar app. You can stick it in a folder and move it to the tail end of all your iPhone apps. But the Apple Calendar app includes the date complication, which apparently your Office product does not.

Are apple watches the lamest digital watches in the world as they don’t have a date function?

Did you bother to actually read any of the solutions posted in the previous replies before you added your reply to this thread?

Install the iPhone Calendar app on your iPhone, and transfer the Calendar related complications to the Apple Watch.

Dear Bob,

Than you so much for your reply.

Alas my problem is not reading the valuable posts as you correctly suggested that I do, which I did. Moreover it is related to the utter disappointment that I experienced when I upgraded from a cheap $50 watch, which displayed the day of the week, the day, the month, the year, and the time of the day, to a $500 Apple Watch, which cannot display anything other than the time, unless I uninstall Office 365 which I need for Microsoft Teams. The Apple Watch should show these basic functions that even a cheap chronometer does, and hopefully I have woken up those in the design department to address this serious anomaly.

Best wishes

Dominic
