Mute on Ios14 iPad Pro
just updated to 14. iPad connected to Bluetooth speaker. Volume turns down but won’t switch to mute. Hit the bell icon in the control center and it still isn’t muted.

Hi Sterling R,
When I disconnect from the Logitech Bluetooth Adapter, the iPad goes to mute correctly. So I guess that means I have an issue with the adaptor. There doesn’t seem to be any information available about issues with the adaptor and iOS 14. A minor annoyance we might have to live with.
No, keeping the volume down button pressed has no special effect for me. The residual low level sound remains (from iTunes, Visio conference, clicks, whatever): very annoying, especially as it is loud enough to trigger Larsen in a Visio conference!!! Happens even if I start the Visio with « no audio » option in Teams, eg!!! And I don’t want to cut Bluetooth, thus loosing my pencil!!!
I can also confirm exact problem. Issue appeared after update of IOS.
I am using Ipad Pro 9,7 and Marshall Woburn speaker.
if I disconnect bluetooth and play audio over Ipad integrated speakers then all works fine.
Please fix this.
I have the same issue. Volume all the way down does not mute speaker completely. On ipad and iphone
Also using a bose mini soundlink speaker
Hello ScaniaTheCat,
It sounds like you're having an issue muting the volume on your iPad when a Bluetooth speaker is connected. We're happy to help. If you press and continue to hold the Volume Down button, does it mute as expected? If needed, the steps can also be found here: Adjust the volume on iPad If the issue remains, confirm if the mute feature works as expected when the Bluetooth speaker is disconnected.
Cheers!
Hello ScaniaTheCat,
We appreciate the information. As the iPad won't mute using the buttons only when the adaptor is connected, we'd recommend reaching out to Logitech to see if there's another way to mute directly from your Bluetooth accessory.
We also recommend ensuring you have the latest iOS 14 version installed on your iPad. If needed, the steps here will help: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Best!
The latest iOS 14 is the problem. It is not with the speaker. I have 2 iphones, 1 updated to the iOS 14 the other is not. When I connect to my BT speaker, it works fine with the older iOS. When I connect the latest update phone (iOS 14) I have the the same problem ScaniaTheCat is having. Stop being so quick to think it is the user at fault. Your recommendation to update will now cause others to have this problem. Test the issue inhouse before you give your great update advise. You causing more problems suggesting that.
I have the same issue but my Bluetooth is off. I use to be able to hold the button to lower and mute volume but now, after upgrade to ios14, it only lowers volume.
