WatchOS7 update problems

I've updated my series 3 to 7.0.3. It has been a bit, ehm, adventurous: I had to unpair and pair it back, but at the end I eventually get through the update.

Can't say if 7.0.3 solves the random crashes issue, since crashes were random and it's too early to sing "victory !".

What I can say for sure is I can no more unlock my MacBook with the Watch, tried to power off all (Mac, iPhone, Watch) restart, reset, no way: when I check the option "Use your Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac" on the mac, it runs for something like 10 sec then shows a popup saying it can't connect to the Watch.

Funny things is handoff works regularly.

Does anyone have the same issue?

Same to me. They have fixed the reboots but not the wrong capacity calculation. Yesterday I could not even add a playlist because there apparently were not space enough. But it was not true. Rebooting watch in fact allowed me to add the same playlist with no more alert about capacity. This happens since update to 7. And following updates having not fixed this.

This happened to me four times in 30 minutes this morning on a run, which is the only reason I have the Apple Watch. I was a long time Suunto user prior, but got a 3 when they came out to be able to call in emergency from the trails if I needed to. Time to go back to an OS that works.

My series 3 watch has multi issues. It sometimes doesn't record HR, It often stops automatically and restarts. A sign sometimes appears which says "chart unavailable". When out a run my stats sometimes come up as Hiit or outdoor walk. I did a 10km run and the gps recorded me doing 17.4km in 61mins (i'm 74 yrs old) It also sometimes doesn't give all my splits. Another time when out a run it showed my activity ring closed after only 2mins 20 secs. Basically it's a mess

My watch started having issues as well. It stays frozen on the apple screen, and if I tap on it enough times, it'll show my photos on my lock screen and when I try to get into the apps after unlocking, it just goes to an apple screen.

When I put the watch on the charger, it drains my battery vs. charging.

Can't use the watch at all.

I will say, after finally doing the last update to IOS 7.1, my S3 is running fine. It still says my capacity is 4.2, which is incorrect, but the crashing and incorrect data is fixed and I was lucky to never have a battery issue. It also hasn’t undetected my wrist since the update. Fingers crossed it sticks and when they push out another update it doesn’t ruin it again!

After deleting as many apps as you

can then restart your watch and you’ll find it’s cleared some extra space out. Then hopefully you’ll be able to go ahead with the update. I have to do this every time there’s an update.

My Apple Watch S3 - recently replaced by Apple with a refurbished S3, started to have problems the day after it auto-updated to WatchOS 7.2.

The motion and heart sensors stopped working, screen started displaying white snow and lines, the watch crashed frequently, and the battery discharged within a few hours (even though I had just received it back from apple pair as a refurbished item a few months ago.)

I have some of the same issues above. It has also stopped unlocking my MacBook. A very disappointing update.

I’m having the same problems. How did you go back to os6?

Multiple reboots every day on my S3 gps. Never had an issue before updating to os7

As I can see the Reset only removes account and data, but it does not change the watchOS version. You can do it form Watch Reset or from the iPhone. I did from my iPhone and it didn't help.

I'm having the same restart/shutdown issues. How did you go back to watchOS 6?

Not true...still crashes with heart rate off.

Very buggy upgrade for watch and phone. My series 3 reboots at least 5 times a day. Sometimes it won’t even turn on. Worked flawlessly on 6 and below.
