WatchOS7 update problems

My series 3 completed an auto update overnight to Watch OS7. Today it has shut itself down at least 3 times, locked itself while on my wrist about 4 times, failed to load complications on multiple faces (weather, activity rings, date etc), disconnected from my phone at least twice. It has also dropped to less than 50% battery in about 8 hours, normally it is still in the 80’s. Is anyone else having these issues? This has been the buggiest upgrade I have seen.

Hi everyone, I just dropped off my MacBook Pro for warranty service and asked the "Genius" who was helping me about the

Watch OS7 7.01 Software Problem.... He actually acknowledged the issue and said they were working on a fix for the next Software update release....

I also ran into this exact problem with my Series 3 watch when trying to update to Watch OS7. I ended up unpairing my watch and basically doing a factory reset, then restored it as new. I should have taken this as a warning of what was to come, which I have described in an earlier post - same issues with spontaneously rebooting, sluggish, watch complications not working properly.

rubenherrera1 mentioned in a previous post that a senior Apple advisor acknowledged that it was a known issue. Hopefully that means we'll see a fix soon.

This rebooting is ridiculous! Does anyone know if the latest update I see addresses this? I LOVE LOVE LOVE my apple watch and I'm obsessed with continuing to close my rings. All this time once I get out of work at the end of the day is really annoying because I'm missing out on ring closing goals. I will admit I've been tempted to upgrade (Mine is the 3) but at the same time I hate to give more business to a company that would make this update so unsatisfactorily!

I’ve managed to finally solve the issue. I’ve updated to 7.0.1 (had to reset my iPhone a few times during “preparing update” in order for it to finish updating though). I did un-pairing and re-pairing and it did the trick. One thing though- I haven’t installed any of the third party apps except radio FM which I use often. Routes are now finally showing, data is in sync with health app and my battery just got from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm without spontaneous resets and is at 53% (have done two 15 minute trainings of cycling and walking in the meantime and a lot of dictation/Siri texting). Watch os6 was around 60 at that point usually. So I’m satisfied with battery as well but I still can’t believe it apple

put me through all this. Jobs would’ve never allowed this to happen.

Rebooted twice, after update to 7.0.1... I was hoping the update was to resolve this issue.

I have noticed however, that the reboot happens ~5min or so after leaving my house (disconnected from Wifi) and being on the road. I've heard from multiple people in the forums with the same observation/hypothesis too.

To further support the hypothesis, on the days I haven't left my house (don't judge me, we're in a pandemic lol ) my watch didn't reboot at all

hey guys, series 3 42mm random restart everyday or doesn't respond with black screen. i've been back and forth with apple and my watch is out of warranty as well. i did the latest update. constant back and forth with apple supervisors and support, sending diags, and currently on the phone still dealing with the issue. im gonna post my case id for you guys to refer to if it helps. other than that, were all sol, that new update on both my iphone xr and iwatch did nothing.

With all the profits Apple make of us, one would expect decent customer support.

they are clueless and not there to help their customers.

how long is this going to take to resolve.

who releases software that auto updates which does not work.

I have wasted hours trying to get the watch to work.

if the time would work you could see time fly when I throw it out the window!
