WatchOS7 update problems

My series 3 completed an auto update overnight to Watch OS7. Today it has shut itself down at least 3 times, locked itself while on my wrist about 4 times, failed to load complications on multiple faces (weather, activity rings, date etc), disconnected from my phone at least twice. It has also dropped to less than 50% battery in about 8 hours, normally it is still in the 80’s. Is anyone else having these issues? This has been the buggiest upgrade I have seen.

Hi everyone, I just dropped off my MacBook Pro for warranty service and asked the "Genius" who was helping me about the

Watch OS7 7.01 Software Problem.... He actually acknowledged the issue and said they were working on a fix for the next Software update release....

Unfortunately mine never stopped doing this... I actually had to send it off to Apple today, and was told “if they can’t repair it, they will have to replace it, and it’s showing a ‘total unit replacement’ “. So now I wait... meanwhile I’m without a watch I paid good money for, and have only had it since December.

I have a Nike Series 5 Apple Watch and the battery died after 8 hours of use after the WatchOS 7 update. It had never died before even using it 24 hrs + in the past. I unpaired the device and rebooted my phone then re-paired and the battery issue seems better now. Still would not make it 24 hrs but at least getting through the work day. What I have noticed is my steps in my activity app are way off. Usually my morning walk gets me 3000+ steps (1.5 miles) but the past two days the watch has registered only slightly more than 300 steps on my walk. I usually had 15000 steps a day and for the past two days haven't had any where near that much although I am still walking the same amount. Not sure how the update hosed my activity app but it appears it did. Wishing there was a way to roll back the OS update. Apple QA really messed up on this one. Hopefully a fix for the update will roll out soon.

I have also had the same Apple Watch issues since updating my Series 3 to Watch OS7. It spontaneously reboots or just shuts down throughout the day, is VERY slow to load the Activity watch face, and it doesn’t respond to taps on watch faces for a long period of time.

i hope a fix comes out for this very soon. This has been the worst watch update so far.

I have an Apple Watch Series 3 and since I updated to OS 7 I also have had the random shut off issue. Twice now it has shut off randomly and all I see is a blank screen. I have to press the crown and side button to reboot. Battery life seems to be the same as before I updated. I do notice that the watch seems more sluggish, there's a slight delay when loading apps or accessing the dock, this was not an issue before I upgraded. To be honest I'm regretting this OS update and really urge Apple to address these widely reported issues in a new 7.x update which will hopefully be released sooner than later.

Same problem as everyone else. Had to reset watch to get the update even though I had plenty of space Constantly locks on wrist and keeps rebooting. I did notice however that when I turned off "Raise To Wake" to prolong the battery life it didn't play up. I would be interested to see if this works for anyone else.

same for me. After Watchos 7 update GPS in activities doesn’t show. Watch restarts several times a day. Yesterday3 times, today once so far. Sometimes it just dies and I have to hard reset it by pressing both the crown and the button. Watch series 3 connected to iPhone SE1. Needs update ASAP. Battery is also worse. I used to go for two straight days without a recharge. Now at the end of the day it’s about 40%. Used to be around 60 something by with watchOS 6. First day it was even worse so it could be that it’s doing some housekeeping after the update. Maybe it’ll get back to normal. I can live with no GPS map, but rebooting all the time is too much! Greetings from Europe.

I cannot install OS7 because "not enough space". Needs 3.1GB on a 4.8GB device. Seems ridiculous that the OS requires 68% of the device capacity! I have NO photos or music on my watch, and only 2 non-native Apps. Even deleting everything that can be deleted, I cannot free up enough space to load the update.

I see the notes in this thread about doing a factory reset to resolve the "space" issue, but given the number of issues also discuss, I'm going to stop trying to make this happen until there are some patch releases available. In the meantime, trying to figure out how to reload the Alarm clock!
