Battery drain and ipad pro getting hot

I have an iPad pro 12.9 inch, 3rd gen with iOS 13.7. It recently started overheating and draining battery like crazy. Since the iOS recently updated as well I can’t help but think the 2 are related. I’ve had my iPad for a year and have never had this problem until now.

I see there is now an iOS 14. Will this update help? Any tips and ideas would be appreciated.

Generally the main reason your device will get hot is if you or an app is using it a lot. - I would suggest contacting Apple Support directly regarding this, they can run a diagnostic on your device to see if the issue is being caused by hardware or software.

Regarding iOS 14, I would suggest waiting, many users have already reported devices overheating with this update, as well as many other issues relating to the new version of iOS; as with any new major software update I would suggest waiting a while so that any potential problems can be removed in future patches.
