I screwed up and Deleted the VPN when I noticed it had Expired on my iPhone 8

I had no idea what the VPN was until I Deleted it from my iPhone 8+ (when I saw it had Expired). What can / should I do to restore Security? Thank you in advance for not judging this old lady.

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 13

The phone as it comes out of the box is about as secure as you can get. There are no 3rd party tools that can improve on the built in security, and some tools that claim to make it more secure, such as virus scanners and VPN apps actually make it less secure. If you ever got a message saying your phone has viruses or was hacked and you had to install some app or another that message was a scam to steal your identity. To pay bills download your bank’s app and use it. Or download apps from the merchants you deal with and authorize payments through those apps. Or use Apple Pay, PayPal or a similar payment service.

Lawrence, that’s exactly what I have been doing - and so far I haven’t had any problems.

I just got very nervous since the VPN was installed when I purchased the iPhone (New) and then saw it had Expired.

Again, not knowing what it was, I deleted it and then panicked!

Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease. I appreciate your time, knowledge and most of all, not calling me an Idiot - I do that enough on my own.
