iOS14 for iPad buggy

Since upgrading my iPad to the newest iOS 14 for iPad OS, my iPad has become quite buggy!

The app store simply will not load...spinning wheel in the center of the screen.

A Big Fish game app consistently crashes. And when it does, the screen has rotated 90 degrees. Further, the screen has to be rotated 180 degrees to get it to self correct.

These are the only issues I've uncovered about about one hour of use with the new iOS.

Any ideas how to correct this?

Thanks!

I was able to fix the issue with Support. Turns out, deleting the gaming app, followed by a hard reset, then allows access back to the App store (weird!) From there, I was able to download the gaming app back on to the iPad and both it and the App Store are fully functioning. And the weird screen rotation has stopped as well. FYI

Issues with third-party Apps should always be referred to the respective App Developer:

As for issues with iPadOS14, being the early days of a major new release, issues are to be expected. If the issues that you see are repeatable, they should be documented and a bug report submitted to Apple using their product feedback portal:

Feedback - iPad - Apple

You may find that you iPad is better behaved after a forced-restart - as doing so often clears isolated issues after a system update:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

I appreciate the attempt to try to help me with this. However, there's no way to follow the steps above. The recommendation is to locate the contact info of the App developer. As I mentioned already, the app store does not load. Therefore, there's no way to get to the developer's info.

A forced restart is a great idea...and I tried it last night. It does nothing to correct these issues, I'm afraid.

I'll provide feedback to Apple. Those tend to be disappointing as they fall in to an aggregate pool of issues for Apple to read, but that they don't provide individual feedback/support for.
