When files are airdropped to a Mac where are those files stored?

where does airdrop store files on imac I can use airdrop on my iPhone to share files to my iMac, but I can't find them on my computer. The airdrop app doesn't have a choice of where to store and my extensions folder has airdrop connected for sharing. But where do the files go?

Should go into Downloads once you accept them in the Airdrop window.

Into the Airdrop folder listed in your Finder's sidebar. See Use AirDrop on your Mac and AirDrop Tips for Mac and iOS Users.
