512 GB phone says 630 GB available

Hi and thank you for your kind assistance. My iPhone 11 Pro Max, 512 GB now says it has 630 GB available after the iOS 14 update but it’s also acting like I have no space left and is offloading apps etc. I’d really rather not have to wipe/erase and start this phone over again but I fear there’s some corruption in the iOS… What are your thoughts? I tried resetting settings— didn’t help. I think erasing and restoring from an iCloud back up is going to bring the corruption right back in. Tried to back it up to my computer but I can’t get Catalina/finder to allow me to pass through the iOS back up to an extra hard drive, and I don’t have enough internal drive space on the Mac.
