Photos not uploaded to iCloud

Hi!

I’ve just activated iCloud for the first time and subscribed to the 50 Gb plan (I have 30 Gb of pictures on my iPhone).

They say the photos from my album should be automatically uploaded to iCloud but it’s not happening. I’ve checked the settings, “Photos” is “On” in the iCloud settings as well as “iCloud photos” which mention that photos are automatically uploaded to iCloud.

What can I do to force my iPhone to save the photos in my iCloud?

Photos are not uploaded to iCloud. They are synced to iCloud.

This means...

If you delete from iPhone they are gone from iCloud too and vice-versa.

Optimise iPhone storage is the best option to save space on your iPhone

It could take weeks for that much data to be moved.

Sorry for my bad choice of word.

i actually don’t mind, I have space on my iPhone, it’s just to keep my photos safe in case it suddenly stops working.
