The new translation facility in iPadOS14 is missing on Safari on my iPad Pro 2020. My language option is English UK. I have tried to use this facility for French and Spanish pages, but after clicking on AA the drop down options do not include Translate this webpage.
Can anyone advise? Thanks

I am also experiencing this in the sites that I’ve visited so far. They don’t seem to be compatible with Safari’s translate feature. I’ve visited sites in German and Japanese, no translation option.
This is a very lousy implementation of what would have been a huge feature in iOS 14. Even the Translate app gives very bad translations (German to English).

I just saw this in the iPadOS 14 page:
Safari can now translate websites in seven different languages.9
And when you look at the footnote:
9. Available in the U.S. and Canada. Support for English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, French, German, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Typical Apple. I’m frustrated every time I see such things. We pay them the same, or even more money, but we don’t get all the features they advertise.
Hi Hani. Can I just check with you whether you are using English UK or English US? As you can see from the Fallen Raven message the Translation options seems to be limited to the US and Canada. I am interested in the fact that you are able to get it to work on your iPad whereas I cannot. Are you based in the US or maybe your setting is English US? Thanks
I have the same issue in iPhone 11 Pro . The translation option of iOS 14 not available in safari drop menu . My main language is English and I open German sites . It is working on my iPad .
Hi Fethon. That does indeed "solve" the issue. Sadly that bring all the spelling issues between English UK and English US to the fore. For that reason I will forgo the translation advantage until Apple spreads it to the rest of us!
Very disappointing. Hopefully it will be added later on for the rest of us! I agree with your point - we do seem to be very much second class citizens at times.
Choose English as default language, not English UK. I’m in Australia and changed from English AU to English and it works now.
